Pike the Dog needs a home

Pike malamute shepherd mix. He is BIG BIG BIG. He is nervous since coming to the shelter. Pike was an owner surrender who has had a sad story, his first owner was unstable and unfortunately beat him. Pike needs a person who is confident (but not aggressive) and will become a firm but gentle leader for him. He is good with older children, but is scared of men (especially in hats)... He is a sweet, handsome boy who has a kind, goofy way about him. Just needs some time and patience. He is very smart and inquisitive. Only Positive reinforcement training may be used with this gentle giant
